Napa Valley

Last year I went to Napa valley with my friends for a short but welcomed holiday break. Not knowing what to expect – apart from what others had told me, it turned out to be one of the best holidays of my life. In fact I think that that Napa Valley has become my most favorite holiday spot. This beautiful valley located north of the San Francisco Bay Area in the U.S. state of California is really filled with natural beauties.

There are some things -- though very few -- for which even I will give up the luxury of a lazy sleep-in, especially when on holiday, but the thought of an opportunity to fulfill my passion for hot-air ballooning is one of them.

A pre-dawn start is necessary as this is the time of day when there is least turbulence in the air, and the breeze if any, is at its gentlest. Of course strong wind and rain are the balloonist’s worst enemies.

The balloon flight was everything I had expected, plus more. The silence, the freedom, the soaring eagles – speechless – what an experience. My fear for heights was soon gone as I was mesmerized by the beautiful view

The Silverado Country Club is one of the three finest establishments in the Napa area and a family favorite for San Franciscans. We stayed there - the nights were just great. I really cannot explain the joyful experience I had there in words. When ever I see the snapshots of that place I really feel quite happy to reminisce the excitement and memories that we experienced.

Vineyard and wines is also a feature one must experience when visiting the Napa region. A variety of wines are available for both tasting and for sales.

No matter what you want from your stay in Napa – your needs can be catered for – enjoy.
